2020 > Chaos Series

Almost all of the work I completed during 2020 was a response to the Coronavirus Pandemic. After returning from Hawaii on March 1st after a two week break, I had setbacks getting into the studio. Most important was the death of my brother. I also became sick with what seemed like a bad cold. I never had a Covid test, as there were none available. When I finally made it back to the studio, I sat down trying to absorb all of the experiences of the year thus far. Years ago I had done a series of drawings with Crayola Crayons, and I decided to take them out and see what I could do with them now. It was almost like comfort food. This series, entitled Chaos, is what has grown out of that search for a comfortable medium to express what I was feeling about the world's new situation.
